Managing to Motivate

In our increasingly competitive business environment, we must motivate our employees to continuously better their skills and our organization’s output. What benefits our employees benefits our organization. This course begins with a discussion of the differences between the roles of a manager and/or supervisor and an employee. Then the concepts of Assertive Management and the Management Life Cycle, which provide a foundation for effective management skills, are presented. These concepts include techniques for motivating employees to support a productive work environment, and the areas covered include employee self esteem, performance-based feedback, and employee participation. Participants will practice using each technique in a situation culled from their current workplace.
