|Creating Style Guides
What is a style guide? In this short course, you will learn about the purpose and importance of style guides and manuals in technical writing and editing. Become familiar with widely used style manuals and the elements of style they cover. Learn how style guides and project style sheets can help protect your organization’s intellectual property and increase the professionalism of its documentation. In the first session, you will begin planning and drafting a style guide for an organization or a project of your choosing.
Recommended Prerequisites: Professional Editing I or equivalent experience and Word I or equivalent experience.
Bring a USB flash drive (minimum 2 GB) to class.
Required text: Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition.
