Introduction to Security Testing
This course introduces software test students to the fundamental concepts and techniques specific to Software Security Testing. The course covers common software security issues, appropriate tests and attacks, Threat Modeling and the STRIDE model, discussion of security test tools, and exercises to design and execute basic security tests.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Testing or equivalent experience.
Textbook required: Web Security Testing Cookbook: Systematic Techniques to Find Problems Fast by Paco Hope and Ben Walther, ISBN # 978-0596514839 (available in the North Campus Bookstore).
Bring a USB flash drive (minimum 2 GB) to class.
