Glass Beadmaking with Recycled Glass

Join us in this fun, sustainability-related workshop that explores recycled glass as an artistic medium. Gain knowledge about the environmental benefits glass, the lifecycle of container glass, its attributes, characteristics, composition, control, and compatibility as we select, prepare, and recycle glass beverage containers in to vibrant glass beads.

Keep the memories alive! Take that saved bottle from a special event or memorable time together and turn it in to a wearable piece of art.

Course will also cover safety, setup, equipment and basic bead making techniques. Class involves the use of a tabletop torch with open flame. No prior bead making experience required. Wear long sleeve cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. Bring two glass bottles of different colors and a sack lunch.
