Encaustic Printmaking   NEW!

Explore the translucent medium of encaustic (hot wax) using the heated palette as a printing surface to make encaustic mono prints. This class will cover heating, mixing, applying wax to paper, as well as layering and transferring methods. A variety of tools will be used for mark making, including stencils to add texture and pattern to the prints. Tools, test papers and encaustic paint will be provided. Please see supply list here for additional items to bring. Number of completed prints will vary by student. Intro to Encaustics recommended but not required.
