Release Management

Release Management (RM) is the process of managing software releases from the development stage to software release. It’s a relatively new, but rapidly growing discipline and a core component of the IT management process. RM is responsible for monitoring changes to the project plan, assembling and managing a committed release package, and monitoring its health through the Test Complete milestone. In this course, participants will combine their traditional project management knowledge with the technical knowledge of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices. Topics include how project management and release management are related, the importance of an RM policy, the major activities in RM and the tools and techniques utilized to implement a successful RM process. Yields 15 PDUs.
