How Computers Work: Inside and Out
If you want a better hands-on understanding of what makes your computer click, or you've always thought you could do more with technology at work or play, this class will help you get launched in the right direction. Topics include hardware; the boot-up process; programming languages and operating systems; software applications; RAM; microprocessors; data storage; disk drive speed and storage; ports; game controllers; I/O devices; multimedia audio and video; Internet; LANs; wireless; e-mail; and printers. The course is designed for those who want to delve into the tech environment and get to know their computers, and is an excellent follow-on to the three-course series of Getting Started with Computers. It is also appropriate as a prep for the A+ certification course. Prerequisite: Windows XP System Tools, or equivalent.
