At the Edges of Science Part II   NEW!

Using a format understandable to the interested layperson, learn more about the most advanced discoveries of science. A strong focus will be on DNA including how its structure was discovered and the expansion of understanding in detail the mechanisms of its operation. Explore how this gives insight to the processes of evolution and how the impact of this knowledge has had on eliminating disease, designing treatments and producing drugs. Science has yet to discover the processes that led to the origin of life on earth and we also seek life in the universe around us. The solar system has a few possibilities where conditions are right for life. More than 1200 planets circling other stars have been recorded. Might they also have life? SETI searches for life in a different way. After reviewing some basics, look at the edges of science where this exciting work moves forward.
