Join Geologist Steve Carlson on a three-day journey into ancient Oregon. Here you can view one of the most continuous records of evolutionary change in North America. Learn about the geology of the Columbia River Gorge on your way to the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument - where scientists have unearthed Cenozoic fossils of land plants and animals dating back as far as 54 million years. Visit the Painted Hills, Mt. Hood, Parkdale Mudflow, Hood River delta, Multnomah Falls and other wonders. Includes lodging at Best Western Inns in John Day and Government Camp, five meals and transportation.
