Understanding Exposure

There is more to exposure than whether a photograph is too light or too dark. Discuss basic concepts about the Exposure Triangle before delving into other choices affecting exposure. Using course assignments, work with different types of light, metering, lens selection, perspective, sharpness, blur, and framing. Better photographs that are more consistently creative happen once you understand exposure.

Anytime a photograph is taken an exposure results due to a combination of F/Stop, Shutter Speed and ISO setting. An exposure is also determined by subject selection; message; lens focal length; perspective; the color, direction and quality of light; lines; shapes; textures; colors and tones; and other choice, options and decisions made before the image is recorded on the camera's sensor. This class is designed to help you understand exposure beyond the Exposure Triangle.

Pre-requisite: Familiarity with camera and photography - not suitable for beginners.
