Illustrating Picture Books  

Learn to write and illustrate your picture book in this new crash course! Overview includes manuscript formatting, storyboards, making a book dummy and illustration techniques. Agents, editors and publishing also discussed. Great for any level of illustrator, from beginner to pro. Bring story ideas and one or two recent picture books you like. Materials list provided upon registration.

Recommended Supply List

  • Cheap copy paper or sketch pad
  • 9” x 12” watercolor or mixed media pad
  • Watercolor set (cheap student-grade pan is fine)
  • Watercolor brush, #6 or larger
  • Pencils
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Fine tip sharpies or other black markers
  • Whichever medium you like to work with and already own (watercolor, acrylic, markers, etc)
