Junior Chefs Academy! (Grades 4-6)
Get excited! Your child is about to explore a unique educational culinary experience! Young chefs will complete Summer University’s Junior Chef’s Academy with confidence and competence in the kitchen. Students will work in a full kitchen provided by KSU’s Culinary Program. Each day, the students will practice cleanliness and preparedness as they prep and cook 2 recipes per day. Students will practice advanced measuring, mixing, cutting, cooking and baking skills as they prepare many kid-favorite dishes, from Pepperoni Pizza to 6-Cheese Lasagna. Students will also learn the importance of fresh ingredients and healthy choices, as each meal will emphasize a well-rounded healthy diet. At completion, students will receive a certificate from Summer University, naming them honorary Junior Chefs. They will also come home with their very own Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cookbook and a self-designed apron.
