If you began your coursework prior to July 2013, you may combine online and classroom courses NOT INCLUDING Teaching Grammar, to earn a 100 to 120 hour certificate, depending on courses taken.
The TESOL Methods and Materials course focuses on effective methods for teaching Grammar, Pronunciation, Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Presents techniques and strategies for teaching English as a second language, including how to locate, evaluate, and adapt materials for specific ESL/EFL classroom environments. Become familiar with lesson planning procedures and assessment tools for all the skill areas. Also observe and summarize ESL/EFL classroom teaching in your local area.
