This course will equip you with the most up-to-date technology in an ever-changing discipline. You will gain a working understanding of the technical integration of the desktop computer, notebook computer, smart phone, portable media player, and digital camera. It will also teach you the fundamentals of computers, software, and the Web. In addition to gaining a practical understanding of the computer through application and instruction you will gain the skills to create documents, presentations, worksheets, and databases using the various Microsoft Office products: Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8, Word 2013, PowerPoint 2013, Excel 2013, and Access 2013. This course provides the perfect opportunity to empower you with the skills and knowledge to either enter or advance your skills as an Office Professional.
Prerequisites: High School Diploma or equivalency. Complete Skills Assessment and submit Program Application. Computer and Internet access required. Basic knowledge of Windows Operating System is also required.

Textbooks and a flash drive are required at the first class meeting and are available at the KSU Center bookstore. It is recommended that students purchase Microsoft Office 2013, this is also available at the KSU Center bookstore.
Additional material to use as independent study is available for purchase at www.cengagebrain.com. The purchase of this material is not necessary to complete the class.
