Kennesaw State University's Continuing Education department offers the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Exam version 4.0, for students seeking entrance into nursing programs that require the TEAS Assessment. This test was developed to measure essential skills in the academic content areas of reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. The exam offered by KSU Continuing Education is a paper/pencil exam divided into four timed sections. Each section is multiple choice and students have approximately four hours to complete the test.
Students must first contact Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) at www.atitesting.com or 800-667-7531. The student will need to create an ATI Student Account and Student ID # (This is not the same number as your school ID #).
After creating this account, you will be assigned an ATI ID # (that begins with an “A”). You will need to bring this number with you on the day of the exam. This number is used for registration at the exam and entered on your exam answer sheet. You will also use the ATI ID # to access your scores from the ATI website approximately 2 business days after your exam date.
AFTER registering with ATI, return to this page to locate an exam date and register through Continuing Education, who proctors the exams.
Note: Please read Continuing Education's refund and transfer policy before you schedule an exam date.
Day of the Exam:
You will need to bring two #2 pencils, a Photo ID, and your ATI ID # (that begins with an “A”). No calculators or other reference materials are allowed. The exam is scheduled to start promptly at 9 a.m. Please arrive 30 minutes prior.
This Exam is NOT administered on the main KSU Campus. It is held at the KSU Center at 3333 Busbee Drive on the opposite side of I-75 between the Cracker Barrel and BrandsMart.
Kennesaw State University’s School of Nursing will rank order candidates and recommends a minimum adjusted composite score of 80%. Candidates who have not achieved the 80% score are encouraged to retake the exam. You may retake the exam and submit scores to KSU twice within a 12-month period prior to an application deadline. Scores are automatically sent to KSU by ATI approximately 2 business days after the exam date.
You may have your score transferred to another nursing school for a fee. Contact ATI or go online to order the transfer. (Note: Chattahoochee Technical College does not accept scores from the paper/pencil version of the TEAS exam; and, therefore, you would need to take a separate exam for this school.)
