AJAX Level 2  

AJAX is advanced JavaScript incorporating XML technologies. This four-day course is for experienced ASP.NET developers already familiar with AJAX who want to learn the more advanced features. Through a combination of expert discussion and best practice examples participants will gain an appreciation of how the client and server interact to produce an optimal Web application. Such topics as client framework, script manager control, networking stack, application services, partial page updates, control extenders, client form elements, and client behaviors will be discussed.

Upon successful completion, you should be able to:
  • Explain the ASP.NET AJAX architecture
  • Practice with server controls
  • Discuss the runtime environment
  • Use code samples to take advantage of some of the popular shared-source ASP.NET AJAX Toolkit controls and extensions
  • Manipulate the browser's DOM and communicate with the server to update the user's view of a page without waiting for the entire page to be refreshed
  • Access ASP.NET profile and authentication services
  • Simplify programming tasks using the Microsoft AJAX Library
  • Discuss strategies for testing web applications to achieve optimal performance
  • Incorporate techniques for developing custom AJAX controls
  • Work through debugging functionality in Visual Studio and the browser
  • Integrate methods for effective testing
