Access 2007 Level 3  

After obtaining a solid foundation for using Access 2007 in Levels 1 and 2, you are now ready for Level 3. In this advanced course you will practice how to re-structure existing data, write advanced queries, work with macros, enhance forms and reports, and maintain a database. This course is for the individual whose job responsibilities include working with related tables; creating advanced queries, forms, and reports; writing macros to automate common tasks; and performing general database maintenance.
Because the book provided with this course is designated as “Approved Courseware” for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist program, this course will help students prepare for the Access 2007 exam. For comprehensive certification training, all levels of Access 2007 should be completed.
Upon successful completion of this course you should be able to:
  • Eliminate redundancy with junction tables
  • Optimize table structure to meet changing business requirements
  • Create subqueries to simplify a complex query
  • Search for unmatched and duplicate records
  • Summarize data with a crosstab query and PivotTable
  • Create a macro to display a form or message box
  • Use a macro to make data entry mandatory
  • Display a calendar in a form
  • Build tab pages in a form
  • Create a PivotChart in a form
  • Add a chart to a report
  • Create a snapshot report for non-Access users
  • Link tables to external data sources
  • Compact and repair databases
  • Determine object dependencies before moving or deleting objects
  • Use the database documenter tool
  • Analyze database performance
Recommended prerequisites: Completion of the Microsoft Office Access 2007 Level 1 and Level 2 courses or equivalent knowledge and experience is recommended.
