ASP.Net 3.5 Level 1  

This course for server-side web developers uses hands-on exercises combining both VB.Net and C# code. It covers the fundamentals of connecting Web pages to databases, techniques for creating data objects and events, and ways to handle data errors. The course goes beyond basic techniques to discuss the best practices and pitfalls that can occur in real-world scenarios. Audience: server-side web developers. Recommended Prerequisites: web development and database programming knowledge are strongly recommended in languages such as HTML, VB.NET, C#, Visual Basic or JavaScript. Windows and web browsing experience are a must. Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
  • Connect to a MySQL or Access database in Visual Web Developer
  • Connect to a SQL Server database
  • Display data in tables and selection lists
  • Implement filtering and Master-Detail scenarios
  • Use templated controls and data binding
  • Implement styles, themes and skins
  • Update and delete data
  • Insert new records
  • Validate data
  • Use the ObjectDataSource Control
  • Use data caching options
  • Work with XML and hierarchical data
  • Handle events for data controls
