Visual Basic 2008/2010 Level 1  

If you are a programmer who wants to practice Visual Basic 2010 software development fundamentals in the context of useful, real world applications, this course is for you. Level 1 uses a step by step, hands-on tutorial approach to learning the essential techniques for writing and running Visual Basic code. This course focuses on learning the Visual Basic language, as opposed to using Visual Studio. If you are still using version 2008, this course will still be beneficial to you.

After successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
  • Use variables, data types, and operators
  • Declare and call methods
  • Make decisions with If and Select Case statements
  • Write For and Do loops
  • Catch and handle errors
  • Manage classes and objects
  • Use arrays and collections
  • Work with inheritance
  • Explore text files and string processing
  • Write effective event procedures
Audience: This course is for anyone with a fundamental understanding of computer programming.

Prerequisites: You will benefit most if you are completely familiar with the Windows environment and have at least 6 months experience with any programming language.
