Photoshop CS4/CS5 Level 1  

Adobe Photoshop is considered to be the world-standard desktop and Web image editing solution. This course will help you to maximize your creative potential, work at peak efficiency, and achieve the highest quality results across all media. You will use the different tools in Photoshop for selecting parts of images and identify the need for having layers in a Photoshop document. Once the design is finalized, you will save images in both print and web formats. This course is appropriate for users of all versions of Photoshop up to and including CS5.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
  • Initiate a project.
  • Navigate the Adobe Photoshop CS5 environment.
  • Determine the resolution and graphic type.
  • Work with selections.
  • Work with multiple layers.
  • Enhance images with paint and filters.
  • Identify the characteristics of various image modes.
  • Work with color adjustment options.
  • Save images for web and print.
Audience: employees responsible for creating and enhancing graphics for marketing materials, newsletters, blogs, and websites; photographers who want to work with and prepare photos for print or web; anyone with an interest in graphic design or those with novice design skills.

Recommended Prerequisites: Before taking this course, you should be familiar with the basic functions of computers such as creating folders, launching programs, and working with windows. Students should also have basic Windows application skills, such as copying and pasting objects, formatting text, saving files, and so on.
