Object Oriented Analysis & Design 2007  

This 4-day course will show you how to analyze, design and create quality object-oriented software. You will discuss how to determine the requirements and scope of your software applications and practice using the tools you need to design effective development processes. While learning object-oriented methods, you will gain practical expertise using UML, use cases and other diagramming techniques to promote good communication with stakeholders.
Audience: Developers and IT managers. Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of object-oriented principles is recommended.
Upon successful completion of this course you should be able to:
  • Contrast object-oriented design vs. structured programming
  • Determine the scope of a project
  • Capture business rules and map them to operations
  • Apply the Open-Closed Principle (OCP)
  • Apply the Single Responsibility Principle (SRP) to enable code reuse
  • Discuss fundamental OO concepts: encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and interfaces
  • Work with classes
  • Use delegation to build flexible applications
  • Solve problems efficiently via the use of design patterns
  • Use UML, use cases, and diagrams to communicate the architecture, components and design to stakeholder
