WireShark   NEW!

Administrators often come across network issues that are quite mysterious and are very difficult to troubleshoot effectively. Using WireShark, the world’s most popular network analyzer, one can look inside those network packets and actually see what is happening. This leads to a new level of troubleshooting and understanding. We will do practical and useful analysis apropos to a person beginning with packet sniffing and monitoring.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Describe what WireShark is and what it does
  • Install WireShark and the proper drivers for wireless and wired monitoring
  • Capture network traffic in real time and to a file for later analysis
  • Set WireShark options and create WireShark filters
  • Perform basic analysis of IP, TCP, DNS and HTTP traffic
  • Troubleshoot Internet connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot network speed issues
Audience: Anyone who would like to do network monitoring

Prerequisites: Knowledge of Networking and the Windows OS
