The Microsoft Office 2007 Master online course is the only comprehensive, performance-based certification program approved by Microsoft to validate business computer skills using Microsoft Office® 2007: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.

Officially referred to as “Microsoft Office 2007 Master”, this program is part of the new Microsoft Business Certification series. The Master certification is the globally recognized standard for validating expertise with the 2007 Microsoft Office system of business productivity applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Certification can help you differentiate yourself in today's competitive job market, broaden your employment opportunities, and garner greater earning potential. Certification can help you advance in your current job. Mastering more skills increases your effectiveness and efficiency. Research indicates that Office-certified professionals are more confident and productive with Microsoft Office programs.

Many employers consider certification in determining who to hire. Certification can be the difference in whether or not you get a job, or get a better job. Students who complete MOS or MCAS certification training earn more (about 12%) than employees who are not certified. In addition, 82% of the students who get certified report getting a bonus upon receiving their certification.

To become a Microsoft Office 2007 Master, you must successfully pass the following Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) exams: Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. When you have successfully completed the exams, you automatically receive your Microsoft Office 2007 Master certificate and your digital transcript will be updated with the certification.

After completing this program, students will be able to create and format professional business documents including mail merges, web pages and interactive forms, create and edit formulas, audit equations, and present information in charts and tables, create and edit Outlook objects such as e-mail, meetings, tasks and contacts, create and modify slide presentations including editing graphics, formatting text and text boxes, animating objects and transitions.

This course teaches the exam objectives for the following certification tests:
Exam 77-601: Microsoft ® Word 2007
Exam 77-602: Microsoft ® Excel 2007
Exam 77-603: Microsoft ® PowerPoint 2007
Exam 77-604: Microsoft ® Outlook 2007

Students who enroll in this program should have basic computer skills including how to turn on the computer, how to use an Internet browser and how to select commands from a menu or toolbar.

The audience for this course includes:
• Office workers, managers, entrepreneurs, teachers, and military personnel who want to start using advanced skills immediately.
• Job training and professional development (WIA), as well as retired and unemployed people looking to expand their job possibilities.

You will need the following Microsoft products already installed on your computer in order to take this course: Windows XP or Windows Vista, and Microsoft Word 2007.

You will need Internet access. If your internet service provider uses only dial-up, a minimum of 56K connection rate is recommended; however, high speed access (Cable or DSL) is preferred.

This course cannot be taken from a Mac computer.
