WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATION BASICS
This workshop provides a clear understanding of operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities. The course describes design, operation and maintenance features of different wastewater treatment processes. Participants will learn to recognize critical components of preliminary, primary, and secondary treatment process units along with solids handling, and disinfection. They will practice performing and interpreting calculations for parameters such as lbs./day, feed rate, suspended solids, detention time, sludge age, velocity, MCRT, and others. They will find out how to identify and solve common problems that occur in treatment processes and process units. An update on wastewater certification and professional growth requirements will be presented. 2.1 CEU.
Meets WA Department of Ecology Criteria for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and will earn Wastewater CEU.
