ADVANCED CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL: RISK ASSESSMENT

Every water system is vulnerable to backflow from cross connections. This course takes you beyond the basics and strengthens your risk assessment capability. You will practice in-depth risk analysis of facilities with low, high and severe cross-connection health hazards including those in Table 9. You will learn how to prioritize inspections for new and existing facilities based on types of contaminants, health hazards, hydraulic conditions, probability of backflow occurring, and level of acceptable risk as well as gain a clear understanding of how to justify requirements for backflow protection appropriate for assessed risk without having to rely on an unsubstantiated “one-size-fits-all” approach. 1.4 CEU.

Meets WA Department of Health Relevancy Criteria for Waterworks Operator Professional Growth.
