This course includes a PowerPoint presentation reviewing Florida gardening methods and procedures for selecting and preparing a site for a garden, amending the soil, planting, and irrigation requirements. You will learn gardening basics such as pH requirements, fertilization, and pest control. You’ll also find out where to obtain seed, dates for planting different crops, the need for crop rotation, and garden clean-up. Then there’s how to grow vegetables in containers and hydroponics! The instructor relates plenty of personal experiences for growing numerous crops. Some seeds will be shared with students.
