2D Animation in Photoshop   

Embark on an exciting journey into the world of 2D animation using Adobe Photoshop in this comprehensive course designed for aspiring animators and digital artists. From classic frame-by-frame animation techniques to modern digital workflows, students will learn the essential skills and principles needed to bring their creative visions to life through captivating 2D animations. Throughout the course, students will explore a range of animation concepts, tools, and workflows specific to Adobe Photoshop, a versatile software widely used for digital art and animation production. From character animation to motion graphics, this course covers foundational techniques as well as advanced strategies to create professional-quality 2D animations. 

Key topics covered in the course include:

  • Animation Principles: Understanding key animation principles such as timing, spacing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and follow-through to create dynamic and expressive animations.
  • Photoshop Animation Workspace: Navigating Photoshop's animation workspace, timeline, layers, and keyframe animation tools for efficient animation production.
  • Storyboarding and Animatics: Planning and creating storyboards, animatics, and animatic-to-animation workflows to ensure a cohesive narrative and visual flow.
  • Character Animation: Rigging, animating, and breathing life into 2D characters through walk cycles, facial expressions, gestures, and character interactions.
  • Effects and Motion Graphics: Incorporating special effects, transitions, text animations, and dynamic elements to enhance storytelling and visual appeal.
  • Sound Integration: Syncing sound effects, voiceovers, and music with animations for a complete audio-visual experience.
  • Exporting and Delivery: Exporting animation sequences, optimizing file formats, and preparing animations for various platforms, including web and social media.

The course integrates hands-on exercises, animation projects, critiques, and demonstrations to help students apply theoretical concepts and refine their animation skills progressively. By the end of the course, students will have created a portfolio of 2D animations showcasing their proficiency in character animation, motion graphics, storytelling, and technical animation skills using Adobe Photoshop.

Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is recommended. A passion for animation, creativity, and a willingness to experiment and iterate are essential for success in this course.

Note: Access to a computer with Adobe Photoshop installed is necessary for participation in this course. Basic understanding of digital art concepts and drawing skills will be beneficial but not mandatory.
