Designing Effective Websites
Explore the planning and design phase of creating a user-focused website. This course provides the steps to take before you build your website, including defining the site purpose and audience; outlining the site structure and navigation; and designing the look and feel of your site. Come to class with an idea for a website you wish to design (or redesign); leave class with a detailed plan for your site.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of the Web and browsers. Students should also be proficient with using menus, toolbars and dialog boxes; navigating to folders and files; and opening, saving and closing files.
Bring a USB flash drive (minimum 2 GB) to class.
