Boston Massacre: The Precursors, the British Occupation, a Boston Merchant & New England Cider

Cider has a long history in the New England colonies. With little potable water available, but an abundance of apples, the settlers of the region drank hard cider throughout the day. John Adams himself drank a tankard of cider everyday for breakfast. In this Fireside Chat, we’ll taste ciders from two breweries based in the area, Downeast Cider of Charlestown, MA and Bantam of Somerville, MA. The experts at The Fireplace will also mix up two specialty cider cocktails. You’ll quickly discover why the founding fathers (and mothers) of New England were so drawn to this beverage. A selection of savory appetizers will accompany our tastings. Discounts or waivers do not apply.
