Climate Change: Our Generation’s Greatest Challenge    NEW!

Extreme weather events and heat waves are impacting biodiversity, threatening ecosystems, and putting decades of investments into nature conservation and sustainable development at risk. Experts predict that to maintain our standard of living, we will have to invest a trillion dollars a year by 2030 into clean energy and a new energy future. Climate change is our generation’s greatest threat to social order, public health, national security, and economic stability. On this evening, Mindy Lubber will speak about the economic imperatives of climate change involving corporations, investors, and major economic players. While transitioning to a clean energy economy, governments and industry must work together to advance sustainable solutions that will reduce carbon emissions and other pollutants, protect vital natural resources like water supplies, ensure safe and just working conditions for employees, and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Last December, Lubber attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, and will provide an overview of the Paris Agreement.
