The Sommelier Series - Advanced Wine Expertise
Are you interested in advancing your career to serving at finer restaurants? Take the first of a series of trainings designed to give you a sommelier skill base. Sample 4 red and 4 white wines made from the most commonly grown grape varieties from around the world. Learn how each grape represents a different facet of the wine world. Discover the importance of blending, geography, successes, clones and crosses, use of oak and more. Grapes to be sampled include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. Prerequisite: completion of Wine 101 or instructor permission. A certificate for Continuing Education credits (CEU's) will be given for completion of this course.
