This course will introduce the basic concepts of Lean Thinking and lean-based improvement activities in the workplace. The focus of this e-Course is on implementing lean methods in the health care industry.
In addition to a brief historical overview, this course covers four primary principles in Lean Thinking -
• Waste Reduction
• Visual Management
• Continuous Flow and Quality
• Implementation
This course consists of demonstrations, interactive learning activities, case studies, and assessments. The course is intended for individuals in leadership roles who need to learn about basic lean practices. The information presented may also be used by individuals selected for lean improvement activities.
There are many technical concepts behind the lean improvement approach. The primary objective of this course is to introduce some of the basic lean concepts that you can immediately apply in the workplace. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to participate in facilitated lean improvement activities with a basic understanding of the core principles of lean. This course was developed in cooperation with e-Mersion.
