Ethics of Cross-Cultural Competency in Clinical Practice

The NASW has a Code of Ethics which mandates that practitioners are competent with regards to cultural diversity. This mandate applies to practitioners in every population (mental health, children, chemical dependency, etc).

Most practitioners work with increasingly diverse people, both clients and colleagues. This course sets participants on the path to engage in the continual exploration of knowledge, skills and values that will help assume quality of care for persons of all cultures. It will explore the ethics of building a culturally competent practice in the clinical setting.
