Potential Application of Dialectical Behavior Theory (DBT) Skills in Schools   NEW!

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive behavioral treatment that was originally developed to treat chronically suicidal adults diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and is now recognized as the gold standard for psychological treatment for this population, DBT has been adapted and shown to be effective for use with emotionally dysregulated and self-harming teens. In some exciting new work. DBT skills are now being taught in school systems around the country, both with at risk individuals as well as in the universal curriculum. DBT can help young people to better manage intense emotions and their interactions with others. Dr. Lucene Wisniewski has designed this workshop to review the research on DBT used with teens and families and in schools. This highly interactive and entertaining workshop will provide participants with hands on skills to use.
