Cross Country Skiing    NEW!

Cross Country Skiing is a form of skiing on light-weight equipment, where the heel of your boots aren't attached to the ski, to allow your heels to move up and down freely. The motion is much like walking and it's great exercise, easy to learn and a wonderful way to see the beauty of winter outdoors!

Our on-snow Cross Country Skiing sessions will give you the basic skills necessary to comfortably ski on flat or slightly hilly terrain. No experience is necessary, this class will demonstrate how to dress properly for active winter activities and how to practice basic ski skills necessary for safe travel on easy terrain.

Two sessions available! Sunday, February 12th and/ or Sunday, February 26th.

Orientation & Equipment:
An orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7th from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the SURC (Student Union Recreation Center) building on the Ellensburg Campus, Room 135 with the instructor to go over the gear required for the course. Attendance is required for all those registered. Please be aware that you will need to bring your own skis, boots and poles.

Note: If you don't own cross country ski equipment, rentals are available locally at Mountain High Sports, located at 105 E. 4th Avenue, Ellensburg WA 98926 for just $15 a day for boots, skis and poles.

Location:
Due to this course being in a later winter month and possible lack of snow in some areas, the class location will be determined by the instructor closer to the course date. This location will be local (Kittitas County), groomed, and have ideal snow for instruction. Registrants will be notified of this location as soon as it is determined.

Please call 509-963-1712 if you have any questions.
