Learn the basics of creating collagraph, monotype and relief printed images. All three methods create unique results; the pressure of printing creates texture and pattern not possible when painting directly on paper. You will explore techniques of transferring imagery with & without a press, using water based media, acrylic paints and slow drying mediums. The actual process of creating each print encourages spontaneity and openness to fresh unexpected results. Create art that can stand on its own or a supply of hand printed papers ideal for mixed media compositions.
All acrylic products are graciously supplied by GOLDEN Artist Colors.
Most other tools & materials are supplied by instructor.
Artists should bring the following:
- Drawing Paper 50-70lb, 9” x 12” -100 sheets
- paper towels
- plastic sheeting (3-4 ml)
- Box lids or trays for transporting papers
Optional: alternative papers or substrates, or favorite tools
