Bluff Mountain and the Upper New River, N.C., June 1-2

The Bluff Mountain area is a protected preserve of the Nature Conservancy. Your small group will be guided on a wildflower hike through this rare, mountain bog environment that shelters numerous rare species. You will kayak on an upper portion of the New River to learn about the unique natural features of this northwestern NC river system. You’ll also participate in scenic drives as you explore the history and culture of Ashe County. Price includes all touring/activities; comfortable van transportation; accommodations at the Best Western Eldreth Inn, Jefferson, NC; kayak equipment and guide; all meals including dinner at the Shatley Springs Inn.
