Handling the SAT/PSAT: Math

LWTC presents Diane Sternoff, math specialist, who is also a Washington Certified Teacher with over 30 years of teaching and successful Math SAT PREP experience. This SAT PREP is designed to prepare you for the math portion of the test by reducing your anxiety, increasing your confidence in your abilities and arming you with practical and proven strategies in 14 hours. You will be instructed on the use of the TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84 and TI-84 Plus graphing calculators. Methods that speed up calculations, tackle arithmetic and algebraic questions and attack geometry problems will be highlighted. This course will also include unique ways to recognize and avoid SAT pitfalls and special strategies not found in the typical SAT book or more expensive programs. You will have the opportunity to experience SAT math tests and evaluate your progress. Class is limited to 15 students. Please bring your TI calculator and SAT Study Guide to each session.

Students will need to purchase THE OFFICIAL SAT STUDY GUIDE by College Board, $21.99, available at any book store or online. VERBAL SAT PREP is offered individually, the same SAT Study Guide book is used for both classes.
