Film Noir Goes to Prison

Prison films were most popular in the 1930s when dozens of movies about men serving hard time were churned out. The films were an allegory for the bigger problems in society. We will watch and study films from the noir era of the 40s and 50s giving equal time to men and women behind bars. Films include Brute Force, Caged and more. Your warden for summer quarter will be Jon Noe, film noir programmer for The Historic Everett Theatre.
