Emerging Issues in Minnesota Water Resources: research activities of the U.S. Geological Survey In Minnesota Topics - Lakes and Climate change; Emerging Contaminants; Groundwater and surface water interaction Activities - options include visiting a USGS stream gaging station on Rice Creek to talk about turbidity and water quality. Instructor Richard L. Kiesling, Ph. D. Location - USGS Office at 2280 Woodale Drive, Mounds View, MN The USGS Minnesota Water Science Center is located at: 2280 Woodale Drive Mounds View, MN 55112 Map available online at: http://mn.water.usgs.gov/about/MoundsView.html Driving Directions From Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport: Take I-494 west. (3 miles) Take I-35W north. (18 miles) Exit on county road 10 (note: not Hwy 10) and turn left onto Woodale Drive. Take the second left into the business complex. The Water Science Center is in the second building of the complex. Drive straight past the back side of the first building (there are typically semi-trucks parked by the loading docks). The office is located at the corner of the second building. Turn left between the two buildings for parking. 2 sessions: June 7 and 14 from 10:30 to noon
