An Introduction to Meditation    NEW!

Meditation and imagery are ancient techniques developed to focus and quiet the mind and body. Benefits range from improved health to increased joy. In this course participants will be introduced to key concepts and principles of effective meditation practice. Several major traditions will be explored including mindfulness and mantra meditations. Related relaxation and imagery practices will also be covered. About the Instructor: Adam Burke, PhD, MPH, LAc is Director of the Institute for Holistic Health Studies at San Francisco State University. He is the author of Self Hypnosis published by Random House, and over 100 articles on traditional medicine, meditation, and holistic health education. Dr. Burke has studied and taught a variety of meditation traditions and has been practicing for 30 years.
