The Works of Master Playwright & Screenwriter Peter Morgan    NEW!

Peter Morgan, British playwright and screenwriter, in such works as FROST/NIXON, THE QUEEN, and THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, has invited audiences into the intimate lives and deepest emotions of such pivotal characters as Richard Nixon, Queen Elizabeth II, and Idi Amin, while framing their roles in landmark historical eras and events. In this course, we will examine the stories behind screenplay texts of these works, the texts and films themselves, and the process of framing history through drama, which necessarily must find a balance between personal and historic truth. About the Instructor: Lisa Rosenberg is an award-winning screenwriter whose credits include independent features, television, home entertainment, and Internet productions. She was a writer/producer on the Emmy award-winning public television series, Psychology: The Study of Human Behavior for KOCE, wrote the treatment for The Oddest Couple KCET documentary; and wrote segments of the Internet-based political series, Reinventing America I and II.
