San Francisco's Poetic Legacy
Using Donald Allen's Anthology, ""The New American Poetry, 1945-1960"" as our cultural guide, we will discuss the birth of, and the poets of, the San Francisco Renaissance including Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Robery Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, and Robert Duncan. In addition, we will explore how this poetic movement came to be defined as a ""renaissance"" and how it impacted the culture around it and following it.
