Acting Made Simple    NEW!

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts.

William Shakespeare (from the poem, “All the World’s a Stage”)

Ever wonder how they do it, how actors present their characters?

Ever find yourself in a situation where you need to think quickly and speak convincingly?

This class is for you!

Acting is really about bringing your physical, mental and emotional states into alignment and harmony as you speak and move. Your gestures, the tone of your voice, the look on your face and every aspect of your appearance is the tapestry on which you paint the character. And come to think of it, we do play many different parts in the course of our average day, be it parent, sibling, spouse, co-worker, and so forth! Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could play all the parts you need to with confidence and realism? Most of us dream of being on stage, and here’s your ticket to learning the tricks of the trade and getting in some practice as well. This four-part course takes you through the essentials of acting. You will learn about physical movement (and stage movement) and how that informs the character. You will practice several short scenes and receive in-the-moment coaching from our two instructors who are co-teaching this program. Finally, you and your fellow students will perform a short, multiple actor scene as the ultimate demonstration of your acting skills.

Each session is three hours, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday Evenings
