Basketry: Round Reed Twining  

Learn the art of basketry from a nationally known basket and wicker artist, Peeta Tinay. In this course you'll begin to create your own round reed treasures. You'll start with twining the first night of class using paper rush while you learn the basics of shaping and changing colors. Then you'll learn to make larger and more complex pieces as you move on to round reed. Basketry tools and materials are included for all class projects and are included in the course fee. At the end of the class you will come away with 2-3 complete baskets. Basketry shears will be available to use in class, or you may purchase a pair for $4 from the instructor.
