Photography: Learn the Basics

Photographer
Are you ready to take your own quality pictures? Receive expert training from UCA and 501 Life photographer, Mike Kemp, who will show you the camera skills needed to take the perfect photograph. Once you gain a solid understanding of the camera controls, you’ll dive into shot composition, exposure, selecting lenses, and using the flash.

Each week, your newfound knowledge will be put into practice and critiqued the following week as part of the learning process. Upon completion of this course, you will have the confidence to capture every moment in a variety of settings, including: sporting events, portraits, candid family moments and low-light events.

Be sure to bring a film or digital camera. Single-lens, reflex cameras, with manual-exposure controls and interchangeable lenses, are preferred.

Please purchase the textbook, The Basic Book of Photography, 2004 Edition ISBN# 0-452-28425-2.

Make sure to check out our more advanced course, Photography: Advance Your Skills as well!
