This course will focus on five of Europe’s most famous and fascinating leaders whose personalities, accomplishments, legacies, whether positive of horrific, are at the core of many of the tourist sites travelers to Europe want to visit most. By examining the lives of Henry VIII, Louis XIV, Marie Antoinette, Napoleon and Josephine, and Adolf Hitler, you will gain the context which will help you fully understand what you’re seeing when you visit the places they inhabited.
