Steinway: The Grand Piano of the UGA School of Music

With over 100 Steinways and a distinguished faculty, UGA's piano department offers young, talented, aspiring, musicians from everywhere a nearly unrivaled facility equipped with not only the best practice and performance venues served with the latest technology but also the iconic Steinway - more than 100 of them. The two session course will include one traditional classroom type learning about the piano school programs, the facilities and the classic Steinway instrument. With this background, session two will involve touring some of the facilities including a close-up look at the Steinway's maintenance, tuning and care. Finally, you'll be treated to a piano performance recognizing the students' many, many hours of practice and their teachers' coaching and encouragement.
