Knights to Kings: A Journey to Ethiopia

What happens when you take eight boys from the poorest counties in the United States to the only African nation to defeat colonization? Lemuel `Life' LaRoche answers that question with this inspiring documentary that follows eight boys from Athens, Georgia, as they visit a small village in Kutaber, Ethiopia, for a chess tournament and service learning project. The documentary speaks to the core of youth identity and the impact of traveling on youth development. The first class will be a viewing of the film and the second class will share how chess relates to life and how it can be used as a tool to engage with children and grandchildren.
