Another River: Combat River Crossings in the European Theatre

This class will explore several important river crossings, considered some of the most difficult and dangerous combat operations during WWII. It took a combination of planning, combat engineers, and tremendous grit on the part of the infantry as they often crossed rivers under enemy fire. Cosgrove has visited all of the sites that will be part of this presentation including the Moselle River at Nancy, France, the Sauer River at Echternach, Luxembourg, the Roer River at Linnich, Germany, and the Rhine River at Remagen.
